P.S. - Practical Spirituality

P.S. there’s more to yoga than stretching.  Practical Spirituality is infused in the practice.

Journey into Practical Spirituality with us in 2026

& lets return to love.

Love unites.

Beyond the details of dogma, there lies a connection.

Let’s meet there.  And let’s live there, too!

Practical spirituality is about how we live, not just what we believe. It means bringing our values into everyday life - in ordinary moments and choices. It asks simple, but important questions, like:

How do I handle stress, failure, success, and decisions? How do I treat people? How do I treat myself? How do I think, speak, study and even use my phone!

What we believe is expressed in how we live. Practical spirituality invites us to align our thoughts, words and actions with our values. Mindfulness helps us notice where we are living in integrity - and where we can grow.

Practical Spirituality is not religion or dogma, but it can live alongside any faith or tradition.

The remainder of the time will be for open sharing or listening. No one is required to speak.

Closing may include a brief meditation or sound practice.

Bagels & beverages offered.

10 ethical precepts we aspire toward

Do no harm

Choosing kindness over anger, patience over reaction, and respect over cruelty. Respect life and act with compassion in words, actions, and intentions. Choose humility over pride and arrogance

Be truthful

Speak, act and live with honesty and integrity - being real with yourself and others - aligning words with actions.

Do not steal

Respect others’ time, ideas, energy, belongings and efforts; earning rather than taking. Do not steal, exploit, or take unfair advantage.

Moderation

Live responsibly in relationships - practice faithfulness, respect, and self-control in personal and social life. Avoiding extremes—balanced use of food, screens, emotions, and ambition.

Live simply and without greed

Avoid excessive attachment to possessions and power. Letting go of constant wanting; valuing simplicity and inner peace over excess.

(how we live with ourselves)

Inner and outer purity

Care for the body, mind, and heart; seek moral and spiritual cleanliness to support clarity and calm inwardly and outwardly.

Grateful contentment

Cultivate gratitude and peace with what one has. Accepting the present moment while still working toward goals.

Self-discipline & perseverance

Doing what supports growth even when it feels uncomfortable - effort, sacrifice and commitment are necessary.

Self-examination and learning

Reflect on one’s actions, study sacred wisdom, learning from mistakes, observing thoughts, and growing in self-awareness.

Trust / Let Go / Surrender

Surrender ego and align one’s life with a higher purpose, higher power or a greater good. Act sincerely while releasing anxiety about results.

Is this right for me?

Maybe, maybe not! You be the judge.

Are you longing for deeper connections and conversations?

Seeking for truth and vitality?

Do you consider yourself a spiritual person but having a hard time finding a body of believers you connect with?

Do you feel judged, not-good-enough, confused or even hurt by your childhood understanding of faith, spirituality or religion?

Do you find yourself wondering about the meaning of life but apprehensive or unsatisfied with religion? Have you been hurt by hypocrisy?

And yet, you long for love, connection, peace of mind and harmony?

Do you have a faith or religion and want to learn how to use your yoga practice to deepen your faith?

Wondering if yoga is a religion? Curious to learn more about practical spirituality?

Experiencing a loss or trauma, recovering from illness? Facing death - your own or a loved one? Finding yourself lost? Groundless?

Practical spirituality doesn’t get too bogged down in the theory or who is right and wrong, or even perfection. It’s about progress along spiritual lines and living in integrity on a day to day basis and the tools to do that. Practical spirituality layers with any religion or belief system and can also stand alone and provide tools for right living.
