Sol (Center) In-service
Addictive Patterns, Recovery & Yoga
All humans have ‘habits,’ or patterns that trend toward or away from health. With persistence and lack of awareness, a pattern that once safely helped us cope with life can become a crutch or dependence. If severe enough, medical attention and a period of recovery may be required to return to a healthy state of mind & body.
Join us for a (required) 1 day in-service CEU training to discover how various mainstream paths to ‘recover’ align with the path of yoga.
As a process of moving toward wholeness & ultimate vitality, yoga is a remarkable tool to support learning, healing and recovery from physical disease, mental disease as well as emotional and spiritual maladies.
In this training we will de-stigmatize attachment & addiction challenges that co-occur or underlie nearly all dis-ease and cause tremendous suffering to a vast majority of humans. Addiction occurs most commonly in the areas of food, people, substances, money and technology.
It’s quite easy to veer out of integrity with any of these areas when the body or mind is compromised by stress, trauma or prolonged pain.
You might be surprised to discovery your own tendencies and how the process of yoga truly aims to liberate us from destructive habit patterns in our lives.
The day includes:
-Nervous system settling/pattern disrupting yoga practice
-Education, Lecture & discussion
-Midday Meal
-Group work & sharing
-Resources
Organized by Dorcas Quynn & Katie O'Conner, both seasoned in yoga & recovery.
No charge, donations accepted for Sol Center.
